We hope you’re gearing up for another great week. On behalf of Brady and I (co founders of ai for normal people), we just want to say thanks for subscribing and happy Sunday you norms.

No time to wait on this Sunday morning - throw that old newspaper out and let’s jump right into some stories that are sure to jazz your trumpet!

AI solves our Google Maps Frustration

All about Google Maps' new AI tool. Credit: Google

Finally!!!!!!!!!!!! A maps tool that will actually work FOR ME to find relative information. Let me explain: So currently, we’ve had to either know the location’s name (restaurant, park, etc), or we’ve needed to google places that have what we’re looking for in this area and then transfer that info to our maps app all while cramming a 7/11 taquito down our throat.

Now google maps has created a feature, rolling out this week in select areas for development purposes, that will allow you to search in plain english places you’re looking for that match characteristics of what you’re feeling.

Why it should matter to you: Let’s say you go to New York City and you want to find the best coffee shops that really make it feel like you’re in Manhattan. You’ll type in “Coffee shops in New York City that give an authentic new york city vibe.” (this will obviously exclude a Starbucks, Dunkin’…. unless there’s a fight going on). Google will scour google reviews, website information, and results around the web to find the top locations in New York City that match what you’re looking for.

Tryna match their vibe with your vibe. ~Issa vibe~

Rufus - Amazon’s New Dawg

Amazon’s previous dog was named Rufus. He was a good boy around the days when www.relentless.com (little nugget there) first started their service. He died peacefully in 2009.

Before Rufus died, he told Jeff “Bring me back as an ai shopping tool” and so Bossman Bezos did as the old codger wished.

Amazon is set to release their new AI shopping tool, named Rufus, that’s designed to give you more information as you shop. Ask Rufus different questions as your shopping so he can compare items and even show you related items that you might like more depending on your search!

Why it should matter to you: you’re going to shop on Amazon and to really make sure you’re getting the best bang for your buck, check with Rufus first to make sure that’s all worth your money!

Watch the tutorial of how it will work (if you’re a visual learner like myself) down below!

Arc Browser is the Tyreek Hill of Search

Brady mentioned this last week in a full write up. You can find that here if you missed it. I’m going to be honest. There’s a lot of tools in ai. You really need to watch this video if you’re not on the Arc Browser train. It’s incredible. Please watch it.

Why it should matter to you: it’s saving you time doing monotonous activities you don’t NEED to do anymore. And you might say, “well Zander, it’s just searching, I can click on my own links?” You can, but arc is already reading all the websites your search is going to pull up. There’s no more waiting for links, getting “10,000” page views like Google boasts about, and then probably skimming through the first few on your own saying "okay, that’s good”.

For you to get the output of what arc browser will do, you would have to hire an intelligent intern to know what resources you’re asking before you even ask the question. Unless professor X is working for free, your best bet is to use the arc browser.

Up and Coming Spotlight

Howie is an email based ai schedule manager that just raised a pre seed $1M round.

Howie acts as your scheduling assistant. Once you’ve linked all of your calendars, you then can email howie at [email protected] to set up meetings for your calendar. You can cc Howie into email chains and ask it to find a time for everyone to meet, it can reschedule meetings, create time blocks throughout your week for different tasks, and you can request all of this in normal everyday playground slang.

Why it should matter to you: Do you like turning work time into play time? IE: More Working out, more hanging out with your kids, maybe even more going golfing… and thinking you’re going to shoot in the 70’s when you actually end up shooting a modest 92 which turns your determined calm demeanor into a whirling-sling-your-golf-club-down-the-thirteenth-green-downspin vowing to stop drinking liquor…

I’m sorry, what.

No I swear, you’ll like this tool. It really does piss me off when I get into the back and forth of trying to schedule a meeting with somebody over email. I’d go to the rec center if I wanted to play ping pong. Howie will fix that.

I haven’t seen many calendar tools that act as a scheduler and are actually good at it. If this tool can pull it off, it will be widely used. Unfortunately, you can’t get started on there platform yetttt… but you can sign up for their waitlist, and their founder will even send you a phone number to text him at. Love this move in building a core audience for a new product.

That’s all for today. We’ll be back tomorrow. Until then, stay weird!

“Onward” (as Brady says),
